A Suburb Of Two Halves

Illovo sits right beside Birdhaven and carries a genuine mix of housing stock: established freestanding homes on their original stands, and a growing number of clusters and luxury apartment developments. It means we're fitting two quite different jobs in the same suburb, often in the same week — a full-house renovation with double-volume glazing one day, a single unit in a new apartment block the next.

What Suits Illovo Windows

In clusters and apartments, sightlines matter as much as sun — a shared driveway, a walkway, or a neighbouring unit's balcony can sit close enough to make privacy the first question, not an afterthought. Day/night zebra blinds or a low-openness sunscreen roller handle that well without losing the light a smaller unit depends on, and motorisation is worth asking about for anything above ground floor where reaching a chain daily gets old fast.

Freestanding Illovo renovations tend to follow the same brief as Birdhaven's: open-plan extensions, big sliding doors onto a garden, and — on the newer or more architectural builds — a ceiling recess already planned for a concealed blind. A standard roller blind, blockout or sunscreen, still does most of the heavy lifting on everyday windows either way.

Getting Started In Illovo

The process is the same as everywhere else we work: an enquiry, a free in-home measure, a written quote per window, then manufacture and a proper fitted install. See our full four-step process for the detail.
